Got a MHCP? What to do next…
After a visit with your GP, they may have issued you a Mental Health Care Plan (MHCP) referral. As we receive a large volume of MHCPs, you will need to call our practice on 02 4072 2027, to speak with our friendly admin staff and complete a client intake form over the phone. This will assist us in finding who would be the most suitable psychologist. Redstone requires a $100 deposit to be a down payment to be paid at the time of booking in appointments.
MHCP Information
A Mental Health Care Plan (MHCP) issued by your GP will entitle you to 6 initial sessions, followed by an additional 4 sessions after a review. Once the full payment has been made at your appointment, we will submit your claim to Medicare. Medicare will typically deposit your rebate into your nominated bank account within 1-2 business days.
Private Health
We welcome Private Health Insurance as your main billing pathway. Some clients choose to access their Private Health Fund once they have exhausted their MHCP. Please note that both options cannot be used on the one invoice simultaneously. Our clinic does not have the HICAPS terminal available; however, the receipt provided includes the item code for you to claim from your Private Health Insurance provider independently.
Privately Paying
We welcome clients who would like to pay without the use of a MHCP referral or Private Health Fund.
Cancellation Policy
For any unattended appointments or cancellations within 24-hours, you will be charged a $100 cancellation fee. These invoices will be emailed the next business day. Your list of bookings will be emailed to you, and this acts as your appointment confirmation. As much notice as possible is appreciated for cancellations to ensure our cancellation list can receive appointment offers in a timely fashion.
Assessments
All sessions start with a 1-hour screening appointment for the parent/carer (Children 16+ included). This appointment is $300 (eligible for a Medicare rebate with a valid MHCP) and is to be paid in full prior to the session as conformation of attendance. This appointment will define the specific assessments and screeners to be undertaken, as well as a quotation for the cost of the planned assessment.
